earnrate

Terms

earnrate is free, needs no account, and is run by one person, Collin Wasley. These terms cover earnrate.dev, the earnrate connector for Claude at mcp.earnrate.dev, and the earnrate software you install. By using any of them, you agree to these terms.

What earnrate is

earnrate tells you which credit card is likely to earn the most for a purchase, based on each card issuer's published terms. It's information, not financial advice. It doesn't apply for cards, make payments or move money, and it isn't affiliated with any card issuer or network.

Answers can be wrong. Issuers change their terms, a store may be coded differently than earnrate assumes, and your own account may have offers or limits earnrate doesn't know about. Check the issuer's terms before you rely on a rate, especially for a large purchase or before applying for a card. earnrate isn't responsible for rewards you expected and didn't get.

Saved wallets

A saved wallet on mcp.earnrate.dev is optional. You're responsible for keeping your recovery code: earnrate can't look it up or reset it, and anyone with the code can open the wallet. A wallet is deleted when you delete it, after 13 months unused, or after a week if it's never used. Export it if you want a copy. The privacy page describes what a wallet holds and how it's protected.

Don't put card numbers, security codes or account logins anywhere in earnrate, including card names. earnrate is meant for adults.

Fair use

Use earnrate for your own decisions about your own cards. Don't try to get into anyone else's wallet, get around the rate limits, overload the service, or probe it for weaknesses without permission. If you find a security problem, report it privately as SECURITY.md describes. Requests that look like abuse may be blocked.

The code is MIT licensed. The card data is CC BY-NC 4.0: free for personal and other non-commercial use. Using the data or the hosted service in a commercial product needs a license; email licensing@earnrate.dev.

Other services

When you use earnrate through Claude or another AI assistant, that assistant's own terms apply to your conversation. Cloudflare hosts earnrate.dev and mcp.earnrate.dev, and npm and GitHub distribute the software, each under its own terms.

No warranty

earnrate is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it's accurate, available or fit for a particular purpose. To the extent the law allows, Collin Wasley isn't liable for any loss or damage from using earnrate or relying on its answers, including rewards not earned, fees paid or decisions about which cards to apply for.

The service can change or stop. If the hosted server is ever shut down, this site will say so first when possible, so you can export your wallet.

Governing law

The laws of California govern these terms, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.

Changes

If these terms change, this page will show the new date. Using earnrate after a change means you accept the new terms.
